We are tremendously proud to support our chosen charity The House of St Barnabas. We know from our work in providing employee benefits in the workplace how important the world of work is in shaping people’s lives. That is why we wanted to work with a charity that helps people affected by homelessness into lasting paid employment.
People are at the heart of what we aspire to do as a business and our approach to corporate responsibility is driven by our own experience and desire to help better the general community and those less fortunate back into work particularly for people affected by homelessness.
We are sponsoring a training programme that not only helps prepare a person who has experienced homelessness for work but also provides continue structured support and mentoring for a year. The House of St Barnabas helps their graduates find, keep, and progress in, work and unlike many training programmes, the charity keeps their doors open for people to pop in and share their successes and challenges with them.
By offering 360° support the charity helps people by not only offering valuable work experience but also links this with accredited qualifications from the City & Guilds, real job opportunities and mentoring. Many of the graduates from the programme have recommended friends to join the programme and share the same successes. We are committed to the idea that gaining and maintaining work is instrumental to people’s independence and security.
